Sharm el-Sheikh

(September 7th - 14th, 2000)

Sharm el-Sheikh is where is my base was for all of my diving.  I didn't end up taking a lot of pictures of this area mostly because I was either on a boat or underwater (See the Diving index to the left).  From what I could tell, this town was once a quaint little beach town turned into one of Egypt's Golden Eggs.  Europeans and Egyptians alike find this town a great place a great place to relax and take their family vacations.

This is the Hilton Waterfalls Resort where I spent my first couple of night. Even though is looks nice, I had to put up with brown water from the faucets and a location that made it difficult to get into town.

This is a great view of Na'Ama Bay.  As you can see, it's quite the resort town.

A couple of pictures from the boat jetty where we usually boarded the boats for our day of diving.

Here I am gearing up for one of many great dives. (and looks like I forgot the flash - oops)

The standard dive boats as they are tethered at a dive site.

The reef are plentiful and very shallow.

You can see what happens when boat meets reef. Oops!
